Abstract: The article presented proposes a case study on the knowledge of quilombola women and their actions within the productive practice of making cassava flour in a traditional community. In order to identify overlaps and intersections in the gender-work relationship, to acquire the primary data of this qualitative research, the semi-structured interview application method was used in a flexible way, allowing adaptations during development, so that these data could be correlated with the existing literature on the subject. The subject of this research was a resident of the Quilombola Community of Zaru, municipality of Tracuateua-PA. It is important to justify that the choice of the subject of this research was strategic to hear the voice of women, who are often absent from public and decision-making spaces, such as work areas. The results obtained from this research show that making flour is expressing ancestral knowledge belonging to the original people of the Amazon and also a form of social reproduction, which involves kinship relationships, collectivity, religiosity and mysticism, exchange of knowledge and the manifestation itself. culture of a people. The way of social organization differs between traditional communities, where women can assume different roles, but in the division of labor, the man will almost always be in the position to make decisions as “head of the family” and the woman who often has work as an extension of domestic tasks. This research brought results that place women in a leadership position in the act of knowing how to make flour and open spaces for new dialogues and discussions on the topic.
