A MULHER NO JORNALISMO DO INTERIOR: RIBEIRÃO PRETO E SÃO JOSÉ DO RIO PRETO (1950-1960)
O presente trabalho tem como
proposta discutir como se dava a representação
do feminino e a participação das mulheres no
jornalismo local, especialmente nas cidades de
Ribeirão Preto - SP e São José do Rio Preto -
SP. Para tanto, escolhemos o período em que se
consolidavam os novos modelos de organização
e estruturação da imprensa, tendo a influência
norte-americana e evidenciando os princípios de
modernidade presentes na época. É necessário
levar em conta as características singulares do
jornalismo regional, e como se dava a relação
do interior com a grande imprensa, para, dessa
forma, discutir o papel da mulher nas redações
e a construção do que seria o “feminino” nas
páginas dos jornais. A análise partirá da leitura
de dois jornais representativos dos municípios
escolhidos, sendo o “Diário de Notícias” (DN),
de Ribeirão Preto, e o “A Notícia” (AN), de São
José do Rio Preto.

Abstract:
This present work has as
a proposal to discuss how the feminine
representation and the participation of women
in local journalism, especially in the cities of
Ribeirão Preto - SP and São José do Rio Preto
– SP, in São Paulo, Brazil. For this, we chose the
period in which the new models of organization
and structuring of the press were consolidated,
having the American influence and evidencing
the modernity’s principles present at the time.
It is necessary to take into account the unique
characteristics of countryside journalism, and
how the relationship between the interior and
the mainstream media was given, in order to
discuss the role of women in newsrooms and
the construction of what would be the “feminine”
in the pages of newspapers. The analysis will
be based on the reading of two newspapers
representing the selected municipalities, the
“Diário de Notícias” (DN) in Ribeirão Preto and
the “A Notícia” (AN) in São José do Rio Preto.
