A MORTE DE DIEGO MARADONA NA PRIMEIRA PÁGINA: ANÁLISE DAS CAPAS DE JORNAIS BRASILEIROS
O presente artigo tem como foco o estudo de capas de jornais impressos acerca da morte do jogador Diego Armando Maradona, ocorrida no ano de 2020. Foram selecionadas 16 publicações impressas do Brasil para compreender como a mídia noticiosa transformou o fato da morte inesperada do atleta em notícia no Brasil, considerando o contexto de rivalidade existente entre o Brasil e a Argentina no que diz respeito a partidas de futebol. Parte-se para análise qualitativa das capas, com leitura sincrética entre textos e imagens para compreender os sentidos das manchetes, que foram agrupadas em dois eixos: o da imortalidade a partir do “status” de deus atribuído ao morto e o status de gênio do futebol. Destaca-se que Maradona é tratado como um Grande Morto (MOUILLAUD, 2012) e que sua morte nada mais é que mais um fato de sua história, uma vez que tão logo seja oportuno, seus feitos dentro de campo podem ser levantados pela mídia noticiosa.

Abstract:
This article focuses on the study of printed newspaper covers about the death of the athlete Diego Armando Maradona, which occurred in the year 2020. 16 printed publications from Brazil were selected to understand how the news media transformed the fact of the athlete's unexpected death into news in Brazil, considering the context of rivalry between Brazil and Argentina with respect to football matches. It starts with a qualitative analysis of the covers, with a syncretic reading between texts and images to understand the meanings of the headlines, which were grouped in two axes: that of immortality based on the “status” of god attributed to the dead and the genius status of the soccer. It is noteworthy that Maradona is treated as a Great Dead (MOUILLAUD, 2012) and that his death is nothing more than a fact of his history, since as soon as it is opportune, his achievements on the field can be rescued by the news media.
