A MEMÓRIA DE TRABALHO E SEU PAPEL NA APRENDIZAGEM, EM ESPECIAL, DA LEITURA
A memória de trabalho desempenha
um papel de apoio crucial na aprendizagem,
principalmente em leitura e em matemática.
De acordo com Allway e colaboradores (2009),
crianças com baixos índices de memória de
trabalho apresentam pouco progresso nessas
áreas acadêmicas. Holmes, Gathercole e
Dunnin (2009) investigaram esses problemas
e afirmam que o desempenho acadêmico pode
ser melhorado quando a memória de trabalho é
melhorada. A melhoria da memória de trabalho
é feita por meio de um programa de intervenção
específica projetado para esse fim. O índice de
memória de trabalho é medido; em seguida,
é feita uma intervenção específica e, no final
dessa intervenção, uma nova medição é
realizada. Nosso objetivo neste artigo é realizar
uma reflexão acerca da literatura que trata das
questões acima apresentadas.

Abstract:
Working memory plays a crucial role in supporting learning, especially in reading
and mathematics. According to Allway et al
(2009) children with low working memory show
little progress these academic areas. Studies
of Holmes, Gathercole and Dunnin (2009)
investigated these problems and show that
academic performance can be improved when
working memory is improved. The improvement
of working memory is made by means of a specific
intervention program designed for this purpose.
The index is measured working memory and
then is made a specific intervention and at the
end of this intervention a new measurement is
taken. The proposition in this paper is to reflect
on the literature related to the issues outlined
above.
