A matemática não é um monstro: cálculo para não matemáticos
O que percebemos na maioria dos casos e, principalmente, quando se trata da Matemática é o seguinte: quando algo não é bem compreendido deixa-se de lado, criam-se sentimentos ruins que acabam por impossibilitar o desenvolvimento nessa disciplina. Além disso, um muro psicológico é construído, impedindo que novos conceitos matemáticos sejam aprendidos e incorporados. Nesse contexto surge este livro: trabalhar a Matemática como área de conhecimento perfeitamente compreensível, longe de um “monstro”. Outrossim, no sentido em que empregamos a palavra “monstro” queremos, na verdade, dizer que a Matemática a nível epistêmico não é constituída por conceitos e temas incompreensíveis, o que acontece, por vezes, é que devemos desenvolver um “amadurecimento” no âmbito matemático de modo a compreendermos definitivamente alguma coisa. Assim, assumindo como contexto parte das dificuldades que alunas e alunos de diferentes cursos que utilizam a Matemática, bem como os demais interessados que sempre tiveram vontade de compreendê-la sem a “vergonha de ser julgado como um não inteligente”, trago-lhes esta obra. A mesma foi escrita ao longo de alguns anos e tem como objetivo principal auxiliar os estudantes em sua jornada pelos estudos da Matemática.

Abstract:
What we perceive in most cases, and especially when it comes to Mathematics, is the following: when something is not well understood, it is left aside, and bad feelings have created that end up making it impossible to develop in this discipline. In addition, a psychological wall is built, preventing new mathematical concepts from being learned and incorporated. In this context, this book appears: to work on Mathematics as a perfectly understandable area of knowledge, far from a “monster”. Furthermore, in the sense in which we use the word “monster”, we actually mean that Mathematics at the epistemic level is not constituted by incomprehensible concepts and themes, what sometimes happens is that we must develop a “maturity” in the context of mathematician in order to definitely understand something. Thus, taking as a context part of the difficulties that students and students from different courses that use Mathematics, as well as other interested parties who have always wanted to understand it without the “shame of being judged as not intelligent”, I bring you this construction. It was written a few years and its main objective is to help students in their journey through the studies of Mathematics.
