Abstract: This article aims to contribute to the recognition of the black woman protagonist in the feminist struggle in social movements in Brazil. Through interviews with black militants and activists, as well as a survey of documentary sources, the study is committed to demonstrating the political strength of resistance of black women in the Brazilian State who came together to lead a specific march of women in the fight for social and political rights that have long been made invisible. With the theoretical contribution of Sueli Carneiro, Lúcia Xavier, Jurema Werneck, Matilde Ribeiro, Suzan Besse, Betânia Ávila and Daniela Tavares, the aim was to understand which processes underlie the constitution of this new collective subject, its dilemmas and solidarity networks with other social movements, the place of gender and race hierarchies in its demands, in addition to its institutionalization/bureaucratization process, its articulation with the Brazilian State. This work presents qualitative methodology as an option, seeking through exploratory and documentary research as an instrument to in-depth interviews with black women activists. As a result, it was found nationally and internationally that the black women's march promoted the affirmation of these women as political subjects by breaking the silence, demanding that the Brazilian State recognize the fight against racism while also dialoguing with society. It was in resistance that black women found themselves in search of a supportive and fraternal society, reaffirming the process of brotherhood and belonging, thus contributing to confronting racism and living well.
