A LITERATURA NA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA E A FORMAÇÃO INTEGRAL DOS ESTUDANTES

A literatura ocupa lugar de destaque no processo educativo por possibilitar o contato dos estudantes com diferentes experiências humanas, culturais e sociais, contribuindo para a ampliação do conhecimento, da sensibilidade estética e da capacidade crítica. No contexto da Educação Básica, o trabalho com textos literários favorece não apenas o desenvolvimento das habilidades de leitura e escrita, mas também a construção da imaginação, da criatividade, da empatia e da reflexão sobre a realidade. Diante da relevância dessa temática, o presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar as contribuições da literatura para a formação integral dos estudantes da Educação Básica, considerando seu papel no desenvolvimento cognitivo, linguístico, social, emocional e cultural. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de abordagem qualitativa, fundamentada em livros, artigos científicos, documentos normativos e produções acadêmicas que discutem a literatura como elemento essencial no processo educacional. O estudo apoia-se, principalmente, nas contribuições teóricas de Zilberman (2019), Lajolo e Zilberman (2022), Cosson (2020), Colomer (2017), Candido (2011), Coelho (2000) e Soares (2020), entre outros autores que investigam a formação leitora e o papel da literatura na escola. Os resultados evidenciam que a literatura constitui uma importante ferramenta pedagógica para a promoção da aprendizagem significativa e para a formação humana dos estudantes, favorecendo o desenvolvimento da autonomia intelectual, da capacidade interpretativa, da consciência crítica e das competências socioemocionais. Conclui-se que a inserção sistemática da literatura no cotidiano escolar representa uma estratégia fundamental para a formação de leitores competentes e cidadãos capazes de compreender, interpretar e transformar a realidade em que estão inseridos.

  • Abstract: Literature occupies a prominent place in the educational process because it enables students to come into contact with different human, cultural and social experiences, contributing to the expansion of knowledge, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking. In the context of Basic Education, literary works contribute not only to the development of reading and writing skills, but also to the construction of imagination, creativity, empathy and reflection on reality. Given the relevance of this theme, this article aims to analyze the contributions of literature to the integral development of students in Basic Education, considering its role in cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional and cultural development. This is a qualitative bibliographic study based on books, scientific articles, normative documents and academic productions that discuss literature as an essential element in the educational process. The study is mainly based on the theoretical contributions of Zilberman (2019), Lajolo and Zilberman (2022), Cosson (2020), Colomer (2017), Candido (2011), Coelho (2000) and Soares (2020), among other authors who investigate reading formation and the role of literature in schools. The results show that literature constitutes an important pedagogical tool for promoting meaningful learning and human development, fostering intellectual autonomy, interpretative ability, critical awareness and socio-emotional competencies. It is concluded that the systematic inclusion of literature in school life represents a fundamental strategy for the formation of competent readers and citizens capable of understanding, interpreting and transforming the reality in which they live.
