A JUVENTUDE ESTUDANTIL VISTA PELA IMPRENSA NO INTERIOR BRASILEIRO: ANOS 1950 E 1960
O presente trabalho faz parte de discussões realizadas em pesquisa de doutorado concluída no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia-MG na linha de História e Historiografia da Educação. Nosso objetivo principal consiste em analisar a participação de estudantes secundaristas e universitários no movimento estudantil nos anos de 1950 e 1960 na microrregião do Triângulo Mineiro, buscando identificar as principais representações relativas ao perfil do estudante veiculadas nos jornais do município de Ituiutaba-MG nesse período. Para a execução da pesquisa, realizamos análises de artigos presentes nas coleções dos seguintes jornais: Folha de Ituiutaba, Correio do Pontal, Correio do Triângulo e Cidade de Ituiutaba. Acreditamos que assumir o jornal como fonte para a pesquisa histórica não significa pensá-lo como fonte de verdades. Ao contrário, deve-se considerá-lo a partir de suas intencionalidades, pois é uma fonte parcial, fragmentária e carregada de subjetividades (CAPELATO,1988). Em relação à utilização do conceito de representação nesse trabalho, partimos do sentido atribuído por Roger Chartier (1990), o qual entende as representações como noções de transformação do real e que atribuiriam sentido ao mundo. Utilizamos como recorte temporal as décadas de 1950 e 1960, tendo em vista que estas foram marcadas por um cenário de grande efervescência do movimento estudantil por todo o Brasil e também em diversos países por todo o mundo. Com este estudo constatamos que houve sérios reflexos do contexto político nacional no Triângulo Mineiro, decorrentes do contexto autoritário imposto pelo governo militar a partir de 1964. Observamos que esses estudantes vivenciaram práticas e ações condizentes com a influência da Igreja Católica, tanto no setor direitista como no progressista. Em suma, evidenciamos que prevaleceu nos jornais investigados um esforço para moralizar as ações da juventude, centrada em uma perspectiva conservadora do cenário social.

Abstract:
The present work is part of discussions carried out in doctoral research concluded in the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Uberlândia-MG in the line of History and Historiography of Education. Our main objective is to analyze the participation of high school and university students in the student movement in the 1950s and 1960s in the Triângulo Mineiro microregion, seeking to identify the main representations related to the student's profile published in the newspapers of the municipality of Ituiutaba-MG during this period. For the execution of the research, we carried out analyzes of articles present in the collections of the following newspapers: Folha de Ituiutaba, Correio do Pontal, Correio do Triângulo and Cidade de Ituiutaba. We believe that taking the newspaper as a source for historical research does not mean thinking about it as a source of truth. On the contrary, it must be considered based on its intentionalities, as it is a partial, fragmentary and loaded with subjectivities (CAPELATO, 1988). In relation to the use of the concept of representation in this work, we start from the sense attributed by Roger Chartier (1990), who understands representations as notions of transformation of the real and that would attribute meaning to the world. We used the 1950s and 1960s as a time frame, considering that these were marked by a scenario of great effervescence of the student movement throughout Brazil and also in several countries around the world. With this study we found that there were serious reflections of the national political context in the Triângulo Mineiro, resulting from the authoritarian context imposed by the military government since 1964. We observe that these students experienced practices and actions consistent with the influence of the Catholic Church, both in the right-wing sector and in the progressive. In short, we show that an effort prevailed in the investigated newspapers to moralize the actions of youth, centered on a conservative perspective of the social scenario.
