A IRMANDADE NOSSA SENHORA DO ROSÁRIO DOS HOMENS PRETOS DA CIDADE DE SÃO PAULO: REPRESENTAÇÕES DA CULTURA AFRICANA E TÁTICA DE RESISTÊNCIA (1778-1872)
A Presente pesquisa se propôs analisar o compromisso da Irmandade Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos da cidade de São Paulo, irmandade esta, composta por negros escravizados, libertos e livres. Através deste documento, podemos perceber aspectos da representação da cultura africana e táticas de resistência praticada pelos irmãos, no período de 1778, data da aprovação do compromisso, até 1872 ano da desapropriação do cemitério da Irmandade. A partir da abordagem do contexto da escravidão na cidade de São Paulo e a análise do compromisso, podemos perceber que o catolicismo, desempenhado por esta Irmandade, era um catolicismo africanizado, ou seja, traz em suas práticas cotidianas aspectos da religiosidade africana. Assim, tornando possível a recriação de uma cultura e de um catolicismo sincrético dentro das regulamentações oficiais da Igreja Católica.

Abstract:
The present research proposes to analyze the commitments of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary of Black Men from the city of São Paulo, a fellowship composed by black men slaved, freed and free men. Through this document, we can realize the representation aspects of the African culture and tactics of resistance practiced by the brothers, in the period from 1778, date of approval of the commitment, to 1872, year of the expropriation of the Brotherhood cemetery. From the approach of the context of slavery in the city of São Paulo and the commitments analysis, we can realize that the Catholicism, performed by this Brotherhood, was an Africanized Catholicism, i.e., brings in theirs everyday practices aspects of the African religiosity. Thus, making it possible the recreation of a culture and a Catholicism syncretic within the official regulations of the Catholic Church.
