A invisibilidade da presença indígena no IEAA/UFAM
O presente artigo intitulado “A invisibilidade da presença indígena no IEAA/UFA” é fruto de pesquisa realizada no intuito de subsidiar a disciplina Educação Indígena que foi ofertada aos discentes do curso de Pedagogia do Instituto de Educação, Agricultura e Ambiente – IEAA/UFAM, durante o segundo semestre de 2018, como parte integrante das pesquisas desenvolvidas pelo NEABI- Núcleo de Estudo e Pesquisa afro-brasileiro e indígena do Instituto de Educação, Agricultura e Ambiente - IEAA. O objetivo geral deste trabalho foi compreender como os alunos indígenas do IEAA/UFAM são reconhecidos pelos demais colegas e sua visibilidade enquanto sujeito indígena. Para atender o objetivo geral elencamos os seguintes objetivos específicos: Identificar o os alunos indígenas por curso; analisar a representação dos discentes acerca do indígena; verificar a visibilidade que os alunos indígenas possuem nesta instituição. Optamos por uma metodologia de abordagem qualitativa e os instrumentos utilizados foram a entrevista e a evocação. A pesquisa aponta que muitos acadêmicos desconhecem a problemática indígena, não conseguem reconhecer com uma cultura própria que possui organização político, econômica e cultural própria. Além disso, falta atitude institucional de enfrentamento da problemática indígena o que pode estar contribuindo para uma invisibilidade dos alunos indígena no IEAA-UFAM.

Abstract:
This paper entitled “The invisibility of the indigenous presence at IEAA/UFA” is the result of research carried out to subsidize the Indigenous Education discipline that was offered to students of Pedagogy of the Institute of Education, Agriculture, and Environment - IEAA/UFAM, during the second half of 2018, as an integral part of the research carried out by NEABI - Center for African-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies and Research of the Institute of Education, Agriculture, and Environment - IEAA. The main objective of this work was to understand how indigenous students from IEAA/UFAM are recognized by other colleagues and their visibility as an indigenous subject. Thus, we list the following specific objectives: Identify the indigenous students per course; analyze the representation of students about the indigenous; verify the visibility that indigenous students have in this institution. We opted for a qualitative approach methodology and the instruments used were interviews and evocation. The research points out that many scholars are unaware of the indigenous problem, failing to recognize themselves as their own culture that has political, economic, and cultural organization. Also, there is a lack of institutional attitude to confront indigenous issues, which may be contributing to the invisibility of indigenous students at IEAA-UFAM.
