A INFLUÊNCIA DO DIABETES MELLITUS TIPO II NA OSSEOINTEGRAÇÃO DE IMPLANTES DENTÁRIOS: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
Introdução: Alguns fatores são fundamentais para a obtenção e a manutenção da osseointegração, os quais estão relacionados com a saúde sistêmica do paciente, com os fatores locais, com o sistema de implantes, a homeostase do material e a equipe profissional, esses fatores serão determinantes no sucesso do tratamento com implantes dentários. Objetivos: Verificar por meio de uma revisão sistemática a influência da Diabetes Mellitus na osseointegração dos implantes dentários. Métodos: Foram analisados os mais relevantes estudos nas bases de dados MedLine, sendo contemplamos somente os ensaios clínicos controlados e randomizados (ECCR) e meta-análises. A estratégia de busca utilizou as seguintes combinações de palavras-chave: (“Osseointegration”) AND (‘’Diabetes Mellitus’’). Para identificar os delineamentos dos estudos, foram empregados os seguintes termos: Randomized Controlled Trial, Meta-Analysis, published in the last 10 years, Humans. Resultados: Fizeram parte do escopo desta revisão 2 artigos que demonstraram não haver contradição da utilização de implantes dentários desde que o paciente apresente rígido controle glicêmico. Conclusão: Concluiu-se que o diabetes mellitus não é uma contraindicação absoluta para o tratamento com implantes dentário e sim considerado como uma contraindicação relativa, de modo que pacientes com controle metabólico adequado são considerados aptos a este tipo de tratamento.

Abstract:
Introduction. Some factors are essential to the achievement and maintenance of osseointegration, which are related to systemic health of the patient, with local factors, the implant system, the homeostasis of the material and the professional staff, these factors will be decisive the success of treatment with dental implants. Purpose. To verify through a systematic review of the influence of Diabetes Mellitus on osseointegration of dental implants. Methods. The most relevant studies were analyzed in MedLine, contemplate being only controlled and randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and meta-analysis. The search strategy used the following combinations of keywords: ("Osseointegration") AND ('' Diabetes Mellitus ''). To identify the designs of the studies, we employed the following terms: Randomized Controlled Trial, Meta- Analysis, published in the last 10 years, Humans. Results. We included in the scope of this review two items that showed no contradiction in the use of dental implants since the patient has tight glycemic control. Conclusion. We conclude that diabetes is not an absolute contraindication to treatment with dental implants but considered as a contraindication on, so that patients with adequate metabolic control are considered suitable for this type oftreatment
