Abstract: Emotional factors such as stress, anxiety, depression and anger have a significant impact on the cardiovascular system. These emotions trigger physiological responses that, when frequent or intense, can overload the heart and blood vessels. The objective of this study is to examine how emotional factors impact the cardiovascular system and influence the development of cardiac pathologies. To this end, a bibliographic survey was carried out using publications covering the period from 2010 to 2024, in Portuguese and English. It is possible to highlight the complexity of the relationship between mind and body, showing that emotions have effects on cardiovascular health. Emotional balance influences physical health, managing emotions creating a balanced immune system. Stress, anxiety and depression can lead to physiological changes that are harmful to the heart, such as increased heart rate and blood pressure. There are ways to promote emotional balance to reverse the condition, including regular physical activity and psychological therapy. Taking care of mental health is relevant to physical health and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, a multidisciplinary approach is essential in the treatment of cardiac conditions related to emotional stress.
