Abstract: Abstract: Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is an immune-mediated and contagious condition, derived from a Coronavirus, that progresses gradually. It affects several organs and is observed in domestic and wild felines of various ages, being more prevalent among younger and older cats. Regions with a large concentration of cats have a higher occurrence of this disease. This study aims to elucidate the nature of FIP, the associated risk factors and its incidence in cats that have other medical conditions that directly impact the immune system, such as stress, FIV, FELV, in addition to considerations such as breed, age and coat type. The research was conducted using scientific articles, books and academic sources, consulted through electronic searches on platforms such as SciELO, Google Scholar, PUBMED, PubVet, and local specialized literature, in the period between December 2023 and June 2024. Scientific reports indicate that the virus is excreted in feces, being
