Abstract: This study addressed the importance of resistance training in improving strength and endurance among older adults. It was observed that a significant portion of this population leads a sedentary lifestyle and does not engage in regular physical activity, which contributes to various issues, including a reduced quality of life, difficulty in performing simple daily movements, and increased vulnerability to illness and health problems. Therefore, promoting physical exercise among older adults is of great relevance, as it can help prevent numerous health issues and restore autonomy and quality of life. With this in mind, the present study employed a bibliographic review method, analyzing various sources to highlight the vital role of physical activity in the physical, mental, and social well-being of older adults in our society. Furthermore, it aims to encourage physical education professionals and even public institutions to develop initiatives targeted at this segment of the population.
