A IMPORTÂNCIA DO PLANEJAMENTO E CONTROLE DA PRODUÇÃO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO SOBRE A APLICAÇÃO DO KANBAN NO SETOR MOVELEIRO

O trabalho analisa a importância do Planejamento e Controle da Produção (PCP) na indústria, destacando suas funções, ferramentas e impactos na eficiência operacional das organizações. A pesquisa utilizou uma abordagem qualitativa, fundamentada em revisão bibliográfica e estudo de caso, investigando a aplicação prática da ferramenta Kanban no setor de Pintura UV de uma empresa do segmento moveleiro. O referencial teórico aborda a evolução dos sistemas de produção ao longo do tempo e detalha as principais etapas e ferramentas do PCP, como Plano Mestre de Produção (PMP), MRP, CRP, ERP, gráficos de Gantt, Just in Time (JIT) e indicadores de desempenho (KPI’s). O estudo de caso evidenciou desafios como controle inadequado do fluxo produtivo, acúmulo de ordens em determinadas etapas e elevado índice de retrabalho. A implementação do Kanban, utilizando cartões coloridos e limites de trabalho em progresso (WIP), proporcionou maior organização, melhor visibilidade do processo produtivo e priorização mais eficiente das ordens de produção. Os resultados indicaram avanços significativos: redução no tempo médio de ciclo por lote, de 2h11min para 1h45min, queda na taxa de retrabalho, de 8% para menos de 4%, e maior fluidez nas operações. A pesquisa conclui que o uso estruturado do PCP, aliado a ferramentas visuais como o Kanban, favorece a melhoria contínua, aumenta a eficiência operacional e contribui para a competitividade industrial.

  • Abstract: This study analyzes the importance of Production Planning and Control (PPC) in the industrial sector, highlighting its functions, tools, and impact on the operational efficiency of organizations. The research employed a qualitative approach, based on a literature review and a case study investigating the practical application of the Kanban tool in the UV Painting sector of a furniture manufacturing company. The theoretical framework covers the evolution of production systems over time and details the main stages and tools of PPC, such as the Master Production Schedule (MPS), MRP, CRP, ERP, Gantt charts, Just in Time (JIT), and performance indicators (KPIs). The case study revealed challenges such as inadequate control of production flow, accumulation of orders at specific stages, and a high rework rate. The implementation of Kanban, using colored cards and work-in-progress (WIP) limits, led to greater organization, improved visibility of the production process, and more efficient prioritization of production orders. The results showed significant improvements: a reduction in average cycle time per batch from 2 hours and 11 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, a drop in the rework rate from 8% to less than 4%, and smoother operations overall. The study concludes that the structured use of PPC, combined with visual tools like Kanban, supports continuous improvement, enhances operational efficiency, and contributes to industrial competitiveness.
