Abstract: The article addresses the importance of air renewal in enclosed spaces to ensure indoor air quality and prevent Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). Standards and regulations establish parameters for air quality, and the use of air conditioning systems with air renewal is essential to meet these requirements. A case study in a classroom demonstrated the benefits of using heat recovery systems, which reduce the required thermal load and energy consumption. It is concluded that these measures are essential to promote energy efficiency and thermal comfort for building occupants, contributing to people's health and well-being and the sustainability of the construction sector.
