Abstract: Environmental education is considered crucial to tackling challenges such as ecological degradation and climate change, according to Brazilian Law 9795/1999, which defines environmental education as processes that develop skills and knowledge aimed at environmental preservation. The research was carried out using educational posts in a variety of formats, such as carousels, reels and stories, covering topics such as environmental legislation and waste management. The results showed that, although reach and engagement varied, Instagram proved to be effective in disseminating environmental information and engaging new audiences. The study reinforces the importance of visual and interactive strategies in promoting environmental education, highlighting the potential of Instagram to raise environmental awareness and integrate science and sustainability.
