Abstract: This article aims to analyze the importance of family participation in Early Childhood Education, understanding it as an essential element for the child's comprehensive development and for the implementation of quality pedagogical practices. Based on educational legislation such as the Federal Constitution (BRAZIL, 1988), the LDB (BRAZIL, 1996), the BNCC (BRAZIL, 2017), and the RCNEI (BRAZIL, 1998), as well as authors such as Arantes (2020), Paro (2007), Bronfenbrenner (1996), and Ariès (2006), the study discusses the historical evolution of the relationship between family and school, highlighting the cultural, social, and institutional transformations that have shaped this partnership over time. The research also investigates the benefits of active parental presence in the school environment, evidencing positive impacts on children's academic performance, self-esteem, socialization, and value development. Furthermore, the article explores the challenges that still hinder this rapprochement, such as economic barriers, misinformation, the absence of public policies, and the lack of effective strategies on the part of educational institutions. The article also proposes ways to strengthen this partnership, highlighting the role of schools in promoting welcoming and dialogic practices, as well as the State's responsibility in creating policies that encourage and sustain educational co-responsibility. It concludes that the relationship between schools and families must be understood as a collective, ongoing, and intentional commitment that goes beyond the physical space of the classroom and extends to the construction of a humanizing, inclusive, and transformative education.
