A IMPORTÂNCIA DA LÍNGUA BRASILEIRA DE SINAIS (LIBRAS) PARA A APRENDIZAGEM CIENTIFICA DOS SURDOS NA ÁREA DE CIÊNCIAS BIOLÓGICAS
Este artigo tem como propósito
mostrar a necessidade da criação de novos
sinais em LIBRAS (Língua Brasileira de Sinais)
para os termos utilizados no ensino de Biologia,
e assim proporcionar de fato um ensino pautado
em práticas bilíngues para Surdos. Inicialmente
buscou-se ter conhecimento dos sinais
existentes na área, através de uma pesquisa
em sites da web, conversa com alunos surdos,
e interpretes. A partir deste realizou-se um
levantamento de todos os termos específicos de
Biologia, e desenvolveu-se um sinalario, o qual
estará disposto através do aplicativo de celular,
intitulado “BioHand Talk”. Como resultado,
observa-se que somente com a interação entre
aluno surdo, interprete e professor é possível
a criação de novos sinais e que apenas com
a aprovação da comunidade surda os sinais
criados se tornem oficiais e definitivos. Desta
forma, a fim de exemplificar, são utilizados o
sinal criado, imagem da palavra e conceito do
termo. Conclui-se que criação e elaboração de
novos sinais em LIBRAS poderá contribuir, no
ensino e aprendizagem de alunos surdos nos
conteúdos de Biologia, facilitando o acesso
através da ferramenta tecnológica.

Abstract:
This article aims to show the need
to create new signs in LIBRAS (Brazilian sign
language) for the terms used in the teaching
of biology, and thus provide a teaching based
on bilingual practices for the deaf. Initially
we sought to have knowledge of the signs
existing in the area, through a search on Web
sites, conversation with deaf students, and
interpreters. From this we conducted a survey of
all the specific terms of biology, and developed
a Synalario, which will be disposed through the
mobile application, titled “BioHand Talk”. As a
result, it is observed that only with the interaction
between deaf student, interpreter and teacher
is possible the creation of new signs and that
only with the approval of the deaf community
the signs created become official and definitive.
Thus, in order to exemplify, the signal created,
the word image and the term concept are used.
It is concluded that the creation and elaboration
of new signs in LIBRAS may contribute, in the
teaching and learning of deaf students in the
contents of biology, facilitating access through
the technological tool.
