Abstract: Continuing education has emerged as a necessity in the current context of teaching in Early Childhood Education. This article focused on continuing education for Early Childhood Education teachers in light of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The general objective was to analyze the relevance of this training for pedagogical practice and for the effective implementation of BNCC guidelines in daily school life. Specific objectives included identifying the challenges and potential of continuing education, understanding its relationship with professional development for teachers, and highlighting strategies that can strengthen pedagogical work in Early Childhood Education. The research adopted a qualitative, bibliographical approach, using discursive textual analysis (Moraes and Galiazzi, 2007) based on articles, books, and official documents. The material survey prioritized recent and relevant works on the topic. To discuss the topic, authors such as Gatti (2008), Santos, Souza, and Britto (2021), Oliveira (2023), and Silva et al. were used. (2024), Brasil (2018), and Kramer and Nunes (2020), which contributed to deepening the understanding of the importance of continuing education. The results indicated that continuing education is essential for developing more conscious, critical, and contextualized pedagogical practices, strengthening the quality of teaching in Early Childhood Education and implementing the principles of the BNCC. This study is expected to contribute to broadening reflections on teacher education and encouraging public policies that ensure the provision of ongoing, highquality training processes.
