A IMPORTÂNCIA DA EXTENSÃO COMO COMPLEMENTO DE ENSINO DE CIÊNCIAS E BIOLOGIA PARA AS ESCOLAS DA REDE BÁSICA DO ESTADO DE SERGIPE
Na educação brasileira, as escolas da rede pública sofrem com a falta de recursos prático-didáticos para facilitar o ensino das Ciências e Biologia no que se refere às aulas práticas laboratoriais. É neste sentido, que diversos projetos extensionistas das mais diversas universidades públicas criam meios de auxiliar estas escolas. O presente estudo objetivou compreender a extensão universitária frente ao seu papel social, entre eles o de auxiliar no processo de ensino e aprendizagem nas disciplinas de Ciências e Biologia das escolas da rede básica de ensino do estado de Sergipe, através do projeto de extensão “Universidade aberta à Comunidade Escolar”, criado em janeiro de 2001 e desenvolvido no Laboratório de Biologia Celular e Estrutural do Departamento de Morfologia da Universidade Federal de Sergipe. Foi realizado um estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, quantitativa, documental, bibliográfica e retrospectiva, sobre o estado da arte do tema através dos arquivos datados de 2011 a 2019 do projeto de extensão intitulado “Universidade Aberta à Comunidade Escolar”. A pesquisa demonstrou que o presente projeto além de ampliar os horizontes científicos dos acadêmicos e profissionais das diversas áreas das Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde, estabeleceu um elo entre a universidade e a comunidade escolar do nosso estado, incentivando e apoiando o estudo das células, unidade básica da organização morfofuncional dos seres vivos. Consciente de seu papel na comunidade, a Universidade Federal de Sergipe através do projeto, buscou despertar o interesse pelo estudo das Ciências Morfológicas no discente do ensino médio, fundamental e profissionalizante do estado de Sergipe, ampliando a visão do horizonte científico dos acadêmicos e profissionais das diversas áreas das Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde.

Abstract:
In Brazilian education, public schools suffer from a lack of practical-didactic resources to facilitate the teaching of Science and Biology in terms of practical laboratory classes. It is in this sense that several extension projects from the most diverse public universities create ways to help these schools. The present study aimed to understand the university extension in front of its social role, among them that of assisting in the teaching and learning process in the Science and Biology subjects of the schools of the basic education network in the state of Sergipe, through the extension project “University open to the School Community”, created in January 2001 and developed at the Laboratory of Cellular and Structural Biology of the Department of Morphology at the Federal University of Sergipe. A descriptive study with a qualitative, quantitative, documentary, bibliographical and retrospective approach was carried out, on the state of the art of the subject through files dated from 2011 to 2019 of the extension project entitled “University Open to the School Community”. The research showed that this project, in addition to broadening the scientific horizons of academics and professionals from different areas of Biological and Health Sciences, established a link between the university and the school community in our state, encouraging and supporting the study of cells, unit basic morphofunctional organization of living beings. Aware of its role in the community, the Federal University of Sergipe, through the project, sought to arouse interest in the study of Morphological Sciences in students of high school, elementary and professional education in the state of Sergipe, expanding the view of the scientific horizon of academics and professionals from different areas of Biological and Health Sciences.
