Abstract: Establishing and maintaining the bond during the hospitalization period is essential to awaken the parents' care for their child, as well as to accelerate the process of recovering their child's health. The general objective of this study is to report the importance of nurses in the parent/baby bond within a NEO ICU. This is a bibliographical review, the sources consulted for its preparation were books, articles, scientific journals, theses and conference abstracts, found in the LILACS and SCIELO databases published between the years 1998-2023. The stimulus for bonding came through breastfeeding, the kangaroo method and touch and dialogue with the newborn. It was noted that the baby remains calmer and shows an improvement in vital signs due to the presence of his parents. It is concluded that the role of the nurse in the formation and continuation of the bond is decisive, as it is their responsibility to plan and prepare the team for effective and effective assistance.
