A IMPORTÂNCIA DA EDUCAÇÃO DE JOVENS E ADULTOS PARA A INCLUSÃO SOCIAL

Este artigo tem como objetivo averiguar a importância fundamental da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) como um instrumento de inclusão social. Para atingir esse objetivo, o artigo utiliza uma abordagem baseada em um estudo bibliográfico, explorando a legislação educacional, as políticas públicas, a evolução histórica da EJA e o papel dos educadores na modalidade. A Lei nº 9.394/96, que estabelece as diretrizes e bases da educação nacional, autoriza a EJA como uma modalidade de ensino fundamental e médio destinada a pessoas que não tiveram acesso à educação na idade alcançada. O Parecer 11/2000 também destaca a importância de considerar a diversidade do público da EJA, incluindo suas experiências de vida e culturais. A EJA desempenha um papel fundamental na inclusão social, oferecendo oportunidades de educação e aprendizado ao longo da vida para jovens e adultos que foram excluídos do sistema educacional tradicional. No entanto, a evasão escolar continua sendo um desafio significativo, influenciado por fatores como a necessidade de trabalho e a qualidade do ensino oferecido. A formação de educadores para atuar na EJA é essencial para o sucesso dessa modalidade educacional. A diversidade cultural e de experiências de vida dos alunos exige que os educadores adotem abordagens pedagógicas sensíveis às necessidades do público da EJA. Além disso, o artigo destaca a importância das políticas públicas na promoção da EJA e na redução das desigualdades sociais. No entanto, é fundamental que essas políticas sejam mais eficazes e melhores adaptadas às necessidades dos alunos da EJA.

  • Abstract: The aim of this article is to investigate the fundamental importance of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) as an instrument of social inclusion. To achieve this goal, the article uses an approach based on a bibliographical study, exploring educational legislation, public policies, the historical evolution of YAE and the role of educators in this modality. Law 9.394/96, which establishes the guidelines and foundations of national education, authorizes the EJA as a form of primary and secondary education aimed at people who did not have access to education at the right age. Opinion 11/2000 also highlights the importance of considering the diversity of the EJA public, including their life and cultural experiences. The EJA plays a fundamental role in social inclusion, offering opportunities for education and lifelong learning to young people and adults who have been excluded from the traditional education system. However, school dropout remains a significant challenge, influenced by factors such as the need for work and the quality of the education offered. Training educators to work in the EJA is essential for the success of this type of education. The diversity of students' cultural and life experiences requires educators to adopt pedagogical approaches that are sensitive to the needs of the EJA public. The article also highlights the importance of public policies in promoting the EJA and reducing social inequalities.
