Abstract: Pharmaceutical care has become an essential practice in the health area, especially in the context of drug dispensing in drugstores. The inappropriate use of drugs, whether due to self-medication or lack of professional guidance, represents a growing challenge. In this sense, pharmaceutical care is crucial to ensure that patients receive not only medications, but also clear guidance on their use, dosage, drug interactions and side effects, promoting safer and more effective treatment. However, despite its relevance, the practice faces obstacles, such as the lack of ongoing training of pharmacists, limited time for personalized care and the underuse of support technologies. This study aims to demonstrate the importance of the full and systematic implementation of pharmaceutical care in drugstores to optimize therapeutic results and prevent medication errors, thus contributing to the improvement of public health. The methodology adopted is a literature review, analyzing scientific articles, books and health guidelines that address the impact of pharmaceutical care on drug dispensing
