A HIGIENE DAS MÃOS COMO UMA PRÁTICA AGREGADA NO COMBATE À COVID-19
RESUMO: Objetivo: Analisar, através de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, sobre a importância da higiene das mãos como uma prática agregada no combate à Covid-19. Revisão bibliográfica: A ausência ou realização de maneira inadequada da higiene das mãos pode trazer sérias consequências aos pacientes e a sociedade em geral. Em relação à higiene de mãos associada ao contexto da pandemia de Covid-9, é notório que as práticas tenham novamente recebido um incremento, visto a magnitude e periculosidade da transmissão da doença. Tornar a higiene das mãos efetiva é uma forma econômica de reduzir a transmissão de doenças prevenindo a transmissão pela Covid-19 e evitar futuras pandemias. A simples higiene das mãos possui um papel crucial na garantia da segurança do paciente, mas caso não for realizada de modo correto, as mãos dos profissionais da saúde podem transmitir microrganismos infecciosos de um paciente para outro. Considerações finais: Além das medidas emergenciais, devem ser adotadas providências que mantenham uma prática sustentada de higiene de mãos como uma das medidas de prevenção de infecção por coronavírus ou por outras. As intervenções devem ser projetadas com a finalidade de serem específicas ao contexto vivenciado, motivando as pessoas, incentivando e reforçando comportamentos de hábitos adequados de higiene das mãos, visto que quando efetiva e oportuna, é um essencial na prevenção e controle de infecções relacionadas à assistência em saúde, melhorando a segurança do paciente, concomitantemente, reduzindo a mortalidade.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Objective: To analyze through an integrative review of the literature on the importance of hand hygiene as an aggregate practice against Covid-19. Literature review: The absence or inadequate method of hand hygiene can bring serious consequences for patients and society in general. Regarding hand hygiene associated with the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear that practices had an increase, given the magnitude and dangerousness of the transmission of the disease. Making hand hygiene effective is a cost-effective way to reduce disease transmission by preventing Covid-19 transmission and preventing future pandemics. Simple hand hygiene plays a crucial role to ensure patient safety, but if hand hygiene is not performed at the right way, healthcare workers hands can transmit infectious microorganisms from one patient to another. Final considerations: In addition to emergency responses, measures must be taken to maintain a sustained practice of hand hygiene as one of the measures to prevent infection by Coronavirus or other health-related infections. Interventions should be designed with the aim of being specific to the experienced context, motivating people, encouraging and reinforcing behaviors of adequate hand hygiene habits, since when effective and timely, it is an effective pillar in the prevention and control of infections related to health care, improving patient safety at the same time, reducing mortality.
