A GEOGRAFIA ESCOLAR: UM OLHAR SOBRE A PRÁTICA E O ENSINO NA SALA DE AULA
A geografia escolar tem seguido uma longa linha cronológica de
acontecimentos que marcaram à sua maneira de ser conduzida dentro das escolas
e pensando este espaço, ela é uma forma de dizer algo deste mundo,
interpretando-o a partir de um olhar mais fecundo, voltado para os sujeitos, seus
espaços e ações. Neste capítulo, apresentamos um resgate histórico sobre esta
disciplina, desde o seu surgimento no Brasil até os dias atuais, porém, com alguns
recortes temporais, o qual situa nossa reflexão. Com o intuito de revelar as
metodologias que eram utilizadas em seu bojo, e que inclusive são discutidas nas
áreas pedagógicas e didáticas que envolvem a construção curricular da disciplina
no tempo presente, dividindo opiniões acerca das permanências no modo de
ensinar a geografia dentro da escola. A nossa reflexão está pautada nas
discussões sobre: a geografia escolar e suas interfaces no decorrer da história; e a
geografia escolar atual, um grito por renovação ou superação? Traremos um olhar
sobre o modo em que a geografia era e é tratada dentro da escola. Baseado numa
pesquisa qualitativa, temos o aporte em artigos científicos além de trabalhos
executados no campo desta temática para fundamentar o nosso trabalho.

Abstract:
School geography has followed a long chronological line of events that
marked its way of being conducted within schools and thinking this space, it is a
way of saying something of this world, interpreting it from a more fertile, aimed at
the subjects, their spaces and actions. In this chapter, we present a historical
rescue on this discipline, from its emergence in Brazil to the present day, but with
some temporal cuts, which situates our reflection. With the purpose of revealing the
methodologies that were used in its bulge, and that are even discussed in the
pedagogical and didactic areas that involve the curricular construction of the
discipline in the present time, sharing opinions about the permanences in the way
of teaching geography within the school. Our reflection is based on the discussions
about: school geography and its interfaces in the course of history; and the current
school geography, a cry for renewal or overcoming? We'll take a look at how
geography was and is treated within the school. Based on a qualitative research, we
have the contribution in scientific articles as well as works carried out in the field of
this subject to base our work.
