Abstract: This article is the product of ongoing collective research that aims to systematize experiences in the fight against hunger in Brazilian outskirts and their impacts on the development and implementation of social food security policies. In this sense, we present the first systematization of the experience of Popular Agents of Food in the city of São Paulo. In short, it is an integrated action of popular movements from the city and the countryside that, based on the protagonism of the subaltern classes, build kitchens, supply networks and popular food courses in the outskirts. In addition to systematizing experiences, we present a theoretical-political analysis of the problem of hunger in Brazilian social formation and current trends in public food security policies in Brazil.
