Os profissionais da área da saúde,

principalmente os que atuam na saúde pública,

enfrentam o grande desafio de articularem o seu

conhecimento específico às novas exigências

da integralidade do cuidado. Para tanto, é

preciso que sua formação esteja alinhada aos

novos modelos de atenção. O profissional da

fisioterapia, portanto, vem se adaptando às

transformações teórico-práticas para atuar em

todos os níveis de atenção à saúde, com uma

visão global e ampla da pessoa e do coletivo. No

campo da saúde mental, este profissional deve

ampliar a sua prática, tendo como referenciais

as novas abordagens que passam a exigir

a formação de profissionais comprometidos

com diferentes propostas de intervenção, que

demandam mudanças na estrutura institucional,

individual, social e política. A elaboração de

projetos pedagógicos no campo da Fisioterapia,

comprometidos com uma formação teórica e

prática articulada às políticas de saúde mental

podem garantir ações pertinentes nos serviços

de atenção psicossocial, bem como nos

atendimentos em hospitais gerais, ambulatórios,

entre outros, entendendo que a saúde mental

perpassa outras áreas da saúde e do cuidado.

Abstract:
Health professionals, especially

those working in public health, face the great

challenge of articulating their specific knowledge

to the new demands of integral care. To do so, it

is necessary that their training is aligned with the

new models of attention. The physiotherapist,

therefore, has been adapting to the theoreticalpractical

changes to act at all levels of health

care, with a global and broad view of the person

and the collective. In the field of mental health,

this professional should expand his practice,

having as reference the new approaches that require the formation of professionals

committed to different intervention proposals that demand changes in the institutional,

individual, social and political structure. The elaboration of pedagogical projects in the

field of Physical Therapy, committed to a theoretical and practical training articulated

to the mental health policies can guarantee pertinent actions in the psychosocial care

services, as well as the attendance in general hospitals, outpatient clinics, among

others, understanding that health other areas of health and care.
