A FIGURA DO NARCOTRAFICANTE LATINO-AMERICANO SOB A LENTE DA CRIMINOLOGIA CULTURAL
Inicialmente, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, o presente trabalho busca entender como se deu a chamada “guerra às drogas” operacionalizada em território norte-americano e, em especial, a partir da década de setenta, compreender, também, a criação de um inimigo externo, residente na América Latina, e tido como responsável pelos problemas de uso de drogas nos Estados Unidos da América em tal período. Logo após, através de uma perspectiva baseada na Criminologia Cultural, é traçado um paralelo entre tal guerra e o modo pelo qual o traficante de drogas latino-americano é representado pela série televisiva Narcos, almejando perceber se o imaginário que permeia essa temida figura reflete o discurso proferido pelo governo estadunidense de responsabilização de uma outra nação por um problema tão combatido internamente no país: o uso de substâncias proibidas.

Abstract:
Initially, through a bibliographical research, the present work seeks to understand how the so-called "war on drugs" operated in North American territory and, especially, since the seventies, also includes the creation of an external enemy, residing in Latin America, and was responsible for the problems of drug use in the United States of America in such a period. Soon after, from a perspective based on Cultural Criminology, we draw a parallel between such a war and the way in which the Latin American drug dealer is represented by the Narcos television series, aiming to see if the imaginary that permeates this feared figure reflects the speech given by the US government to hold another nation responsible for a problem so fought internally in the country: the use of banned substances.
