Abstract: Accessibility is the ability and situation of reach, perception, and understanding for the safe and independent use of buildings, areas, furniture, and urban equipment and must be experienced by any individual with limited movement. The Family Health Strategy (ESF) needs to be the preferred point of contact for users with the Unified Health System, as a main requirement in primary care. The objective of the work was to verify the accessibility of patients in a Family Health Unit in the city of Araripina – Pernambuco. To collect the data, a “check-list” was used, the analysis procedure began with the structural observation of the ESF, after checking the facilities, in categories such as internal architectural structures, covering stairs, doors, windows, washbasins, cabinets, ramps, handrails, furniture, lighting, ventilation, floors, walls and gaps, in addition to difficult access during the rainy season. The collection interval occurred from April to June 2023. In the study, it was found that few structural standards that facilitate mobility were considered in the construction and maintenance of the health unit, causing obstacles to patients, users of healthcare services, and a portion of patients who have physical, hearing, visual, intellectual or mental limitations, who often end up having limited actions, such as when performing activities common to other people, especially about locomotion. Therefore, it is understood that there should be good discernment on the part of public authorities in including in their planning the development of a new population profile, which takes into account human characteristics, be it locomotion, sensory or intellectual disabilities, and adaptation capacity. And, this attitude would considerably change the social scenario, especially in health services, where they struggle and make efforts to obtain quality care, equity, completeness, free from harm and obstacles.
