A face invisível das mulheres imigrantes polonesas no Brasil
RESUMO: Ainda que não fosse permitido que mulheres imigrassem sozinhas da região que hoje corresponde ao território polonês para o Brasil, elas se fizeram amplamente presentes no movimento migratório que se iniciou no final do século XIX, já que famílias inteiras desembarcaram em solo brasileiro objetivando se tornarem proprietárias de terras cultiváveis. As mulheres polonesas que vieram ao Brasil ocuparam, principalmente, os papéis de mães e filhas no princípio. Posteriormente, comunidades inteiras da etnia polonesa foram estabelecidas, além de outras com grupos mistos de imigrantes, tornando a mulher parte imprescindível da sociedade formada a partir do movimento migratório em diversas partes do país, com destaque para a região sul, ainda que suas contribuições não fossem vistas como importantes em uma sociedade industrial. Nas últimas décadas, muito se tem discutido acerca das questões de gênero dentro da História e outras áreas das ciências humanas e sociais. As mulheres, outrora ignoradas, senão, excluídas, passam a protagonizar estudos que buscam compreender suas contribuições para a sociedade e suas percepções da realidade. O presente artigo busca desenvolver reflexões sobre a importância de estudos acerca da mulher imigrante, com foco na polonesa, identificando questões já abordadas dentro do tema e outras que ainda podem vir a ser respondidas a partir de diferentes fontes, como a fotografia, que torna visível a face até então invisível destas mulheres, e abordagens, como através da História Oral, onde as vozes das mulheres que compõe o grupo identitário das imigrantes polonesas podem ser ouvidas, revelando seus pontos de vista, seus sonhos e expectativas sobre suas vidas longe de sua terra natal.

Abstract:
Although women were not allowed to immigrate alone from the region that today corresponds to Polish territory for Brazil, they were widely present in the migratory movement that began in the late 19th century, since entire families landed on Brazilian soil aiming to become owners of arable land. Polish women who came to Brazil mainly occupied the roles of mothers and daughters at the beginning. Subsequently, entire communities of Polish ethnicity were established, in addition to others with mixed immigrant groups, making women an essential part of the society formed from the migratory movement in different parts of the country, with emphasis on the southern region, although their contributions weren’t seen as important in an industrial society. In recent decades, much has been discussed about gender issues within history and other areas of the human and social sciences. Women, formerly ignored, if not excluded, start to become protagonists in studies that seek to understand their contributions to society and their perceptions of reality. This article seeks to develop reflections on the importance of studies about immigrant women, with a focus on the Polish women, identifying issues already addressed within the theme and others that may still be answered from different sources, such as photography, which makes visible the invisible face of these women, and approaches, such as through Oral History, where the voices of women that are part of the identity group of Polish immigrants can be heard, revealing their views, their dreams and expectations about their lives far from their homeland.
