Abstract: To characterize the theses and dissertations that used the ethnonursing approach in the Postgraduate Nursing Programs in Brazil between 2004 and 2024. Methods: Bibliometric study carried out by consulting the thesis database of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, locating 29 theses and dissertations, of which 24.14% were doctoral theses, 75.86% were master's dissertations, 72.41% were academic master's degrees and 3.45% were professional master's degrees. Results: The concentration of production lies in the Postgraduate Nursing Programs of the Southeast and Northeast Regions. Three professors supervised 34.5% of the studies. Furthermore, 100% of the studies used a qualitative approach with the theoretical-methodological framework of Leininger's Theory of Diversity and Universality of Cultural Care, supported by Ethnonursing. Conclusion: The results showed the importance of this theme in advanced studies. Overcoming beliefs and ideologies through scientific foundations is a priority when suggesting innovations in nursing care.
