A ESTRATÉGIA DO ESTUDO DE CASO À LUZ DOS PARADIGMAS POSITIVISTA E INTERPRETATIVISTA
O objetivo desde ensaio discutir a aplicação da metodologia de estudo de caso, com intuito de desmontar as fragilidades da técnica e sua mudança dentro dos paradigmas positivista e interpretativista. Para cumprir esse objetivo foi utilizado o Método de Revisão Sistemática da Literatura nas plataformas SciELO, ERIC, RCAAP, Google Acadêmico e Portal da CAPES. Observou-se que é recomendável aplicação do método do estudo de caso para pesquisas na área das ciências sociais aplicadas e quando o autor entende que a especificidade do caso requer análise individual e aprofundada do fenômeno uma vez que ele não pode ser estudado fora do contexto em que naturalmente ocorre. Este método é a estratégia escolhida ao se examinarem acontecimentos contemporâneos, mas quando não se podem manipular comportamentos relevantes. O estudo de caso conta com muitas das técnicas utilizadas pelas pesquisas históricas, mas acrescenta duas fontes de evidências que usualmente não são incluídas no repertório de um historiador: observação direta e série sistemática de entrevistas. O rigor de pesquisa, generalização amostral e o tempo da pesquisa, demonstraram ser as principais críticas ao método e que a mudança de paradigmas na pesquisa fez o estudo de caso refletir sobre o seu papel nas pesquisas qualitativas.

Abstract:
The objective of this essay was to discuss how the case study methodology is applied and reflect on the weaknesses of the technique and its change within the positivist and interpretivist paradigms. To accomplish this objective, the Systematic Literature Review Method was used in SciELO, ERIC, RCAAP, Google Scholar, and Portal da CAPES platforms. The application of the case study method is recommended for research in the area of applied social sciences and when the author understands that the specificity of the case requires individual and in-depth analysis of the phenomenon, since it cannot be studied outside the context in which it naturally occurs. This method is the chosen strategy when examining contemporary events, but when relevant behavior cannot be manipulated. The case study relies on many of the techniques used in historical research, but adds two sources of evidence not usually included in a historian's repertoire: direct observation and a systematic series of interviews. Research rigor, sample generalization, and research time have proven to be the main criticisms of the method, and the changing paradigms in research have made the case study reflect on its role in qualitative research.
