A ESCRITA DO SUJEITO SURDO: REFLEXOS DA ORALIDADE EM “SINAIS”
Por muito tempo, a história da educação dos surdos tem sido marcada pelo fracasso de práticas oralistas impostas por uma sociedade fonocêntrica. Pensando nas dificuldades na educação do indivíduo surdo, alguns questionamentos surgem à nossa mente: por que os surdos não aprendem a ler e, em especial a escrever com destreza a língua portuguesa assim como os ouvintes, visto que possuem as mesmas competências linguísticas? O que impede que esses alunos detenham as habilidades da escrita? Desta forma, o presente trabalho surge com o intuito de corroborar a língua de sinais como língua natural por meio da exposição das características distintas que as marcam como tal, além de discutir o processo de aquisição da língua escrita pelo surdo, bem como investigar as dificuldades dos alunos surdos no que tange à produção de textos escritos, dado que esta modalidade exige dos sujeitos operações cognitivas distintas da língua oral.

Abstract:
For a long time, the history of deaf education has been marked by the failure of oralist practices imposed by a phonocentric society. Thinking about the difficulties in the education of the deaf individual, some questions arise to our mind: why deaf people do not learn to read and, especially to write the Portuguese language as well as listeners, since they have the same language skills? What prevents these students from having writing skills? Thus, the present work aims to corroborate the sign language as a natural language by exposing the distinct characteristics that mark them as such, besides discussing the process of acquisition of the language written by the deaf, as well as to investigate the difficulties deaf students regarding the production of written texts, since this modality requires cognitive operations distinct from oral language.
