Abstract: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the main cause of neurodegenerative dementia in the geriatric population, with an important functional decline and may have a fatal outcome. This condition translates into a serious problem for public health, given the aging population and the lack of therapeutic resources in the treatment of this disease. This is a study that will verify the efficacy of the use of monoclonal antibodies in the clinical management of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted where the temporal cut-off of the articles was from 2012 to 2022, available in the PubMed and VHL databases, resulting in 1830 articles that after the application of the inclusion and exclusion criteria were identified 17 relevant studies for this review. Results: After inspection of the articles and their results, it was found that although the reduction of amyloid plaques in the central nervous system was proven, there was no clinical improvement in the symptoms of AD.
