Abstract: The objective of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of the reference service offered through the WhatsApp application at the PUCPR Central Library, as well as to contribute to the discussion about the new services to be offered with the use of technology. The methodology used for this study was research with a mixed approach; Adherence in answering the questionnaire was low, however, 100% of respondents agree that the service serves its purpose well and it is concluded that the application facilitates the user experience and helps the reference librarian in agility, but never replacing the professional Well prepared.
