A educação superior no Estado do Maranhão e Política Educacional: aspectos da origem e a sua implementação
Neste artigo apresenta-se a
origem e a implementação da educação
superior no Maranhão nas primeiras décadas
do século XX e as politicas educacionais,
especificando a influência de algumas delas
nas perspectivas de ensino que foram sendo
evolutivamente assumidas. Desse modo,
inicia-se uma descrição histórica analisando a
educação superior no Brasil e no Maranhão e a
conjuntura politica no período estudado, e seu
processo de organização das suas primeiras
faculdades. Constata-se que para tal análise
tem se como pressuposto que as políticas e
gestão da educação superior a nível nacional e
estadual são marcadas por múltiplas regulações
envolvendo diferentes personagens, interesses
e prioridades. Trata-se neste momento de
contribuir, na perspectiva histórica, para a
compreensão dos fatores preponderantes que
resultaram na gênese desse nível de ensino em
terras maranhenses.

Abstract:
This article presents the origin and
implementation of higher education in Maranhão
in the first decades of the twentieth century and
educational policies, specifying the influence of
some of them on the educational perspectives
that have been evolutionarily assumed. Thus,
a historical description is begun analyzing the
higher education in Brazil and Maranhão and
the political conjuncture in the studied period,
and its process of organization of its first
faculties. For this analysis, it is assumed that the
policies and management of higher education at
national and state level are marked by multiple
regulations involving different personalities,
interests and priorities. It is now a matter of
contributing, in the historical perspective, to
the understanding of the preponderant factors
that have resulted in the genesis of this level of
education in Maranhão lands.
