Abstract: The Aztec were a great people and became a prosperous empire before the arrival of the Spanish colonizers. They had a peculiar education system adapted to their way of life. The objective of this work is to describe the Aztec education system, trying to reveal the existence of a legacy capable of contributing to the contemporary education system. Starting from an analysis of bibliographic records, the elements that were part of the Aztec education system will be highlighted, such as its structure, its themes, the methods used, how the teachings were taught, and a hypothesis will also be established about a possible legacy of this system of education. teaching for today. That said, this article follows a brief contextualization of who the Aztecs were, followed by a description of their education system, then the identification of the modern population group that is considered the remnants of the Aztecs, a description of the education system of this remaining group and finally a comparison of education systems. Through the analysis, a legacy can be seen in the contemporary education system of a certain population group.
