A EDUCAÇÃO DE ÓRFÃOS NAS MINAS COLONIAIS: ESTRATÉGIAS EDUCATIVAS CONFORME O SEXO DOS TUTORES E TUTELADOS.
O intuito desta pesquisa é investigar a relação existente entre a educação recebida pelos órfãos pertencentes ao termo de Mariana-MG e a categoria sexo dos tutores e dos tutelados. O objetivo é analisar para quais práticas educativas os(as) tutores(as) direcionavam meninas e meninos órfãos no período colonial. Para a realização dessa análise, foram selecionadas 27 contas de tutela referentes às despesas dos tutores com a educação de seus tutelados no período que vai de 1790 até 1822. Após ampla pesquisa documental, constatei que as condições econômicas e o sexo dos órfãos eram fatores que determinavam significativamente a educação na região das minas.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the education received by orphans belonging to the term of Mariana, Minas Gerais, and the gender category of guardians and their wards. The objective is to analyze towards which educational practices did guardians direct orphaned girls and boys within the colonial period. As for the analysis, twenty seven tutelage accounts were selected regarding the guardians’ expenses for the education of their wards between 1790 and 1822. After extensive documentary research, I found that the economic conditions and the orphans’ gender were factors that significantly defined education in the mines region.
