A EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL COMO SOLUÇÃO PARA OS RISCOS GERADOS PELO CONSUMISMO CONTEMPORÂNEO
O presente artigo busca, através de uma breve análise acerca da sociedade de risco, apoiada em sociólogos que trabalham o risco dentro das ciências sociais, fazer uma relação entre consumismo e risco, apontando que o atual sistema de consumo acaba por criar inúmeros riscos, muitos dos quais imprevisíveis, que poderão culminar com o esgotamento do Planeta. Passa-se, então, à análise da educação ambiental, que se entende seja uma alternativa viável e necessária a fim de mudar paradigmas e evitar os riscos criados pelo atual cenário consumista, defendendo-se, de forma sucinta, a necessidade da criação de uma disciplina específica, além do trabalho interdisciplinar, a fim de possibilitar uma melhor compreensão das questões ambientais, da amplitude dos danos e da necessidade de alteração do comportamento humano, com ênfase no consumismo, a fim de garantir-se a perpetuação da vida humana no Planeta.

Abstract:
This article seeks, through a brief analysis on the risk society, based on the risk sociologists working within the social sciences, making a relationship between consumerism and risk, pointing out that the current system of consumer ultimately creates numerous risks, many of which are unforeseeable, which may culminate in the depletion of the planet. Then goes on to the analysis of environmental education, which is meant to be a viable and necessary alternative to change paradigms and avoid the risks created by the current consumerist scenario, defending, briefly, the necessity of creating a specific discipline, in addition to interdisciplinary work in order to enable a better understanding of environmental issues, the extent of damage and the need for modification of human behavior with emphasis on consumerism in order to ensure the perpetuation of human life on Planet.
