A EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL COMO FERRAMENTA PARA AÇÕES MAIS SUSTENTÁVEIS
Pesquisas que buscam compreender os impactos relacionados ao meio ambiente estão em pauta desde a década de 70. O que ressalta a importância de práticas sustentáveis para minimizar estes impactos, em especial quando causados por ações antrópicas. Neste âmbito ressalta-se o uso de fontes de energias renováveis com o uso de recursos naturais, considerando três pilares: social, econômico e ambiental, de forma a gerar reflexões na sociedade e no poder público quanto a preservação ambiental. Diversas reuniões e conferências foram e estão sendo organizadas pela Organizações das Nações Unidas (ONU), cujo objetivo é manter o estado do meio ambiente global sob contínuo monitoramento, alertar povos e nações sobre problemas e ameaças ao meio ambiente e recomendar medidas para melhorar a qualidade de vida da população, sem comprometer os recursos e os serviços ambientais das gerações futuras. Desta forma, objetiva-se neste capítulo discutir o papel da educação ambiental no desenvolvimento sustentável através das medidas mitigadoras, como o uso de energias renováveis, de forma a enfatizar a sua importância social, econômica e ambiental.

Abstract:
Research that seeks to understand the impacts related to the environment has been on the agenda since the 70s. This highlights the importance of sustainable practices to minimize these impacts, especially when caused by human actions. In this context, the use of renewable energy sources with the use of natural resources is highlighted, considering three pillars: social, economic and environmental, generating reflections in society and in the public power regarding environmental preservation. Several meetings and conferences have been and are being organized by the United Nations (UN), whose objective is to keep the state of the global environment under continuous monitoring, to alert peoples and nations about problems and threats to the environment and to recommend measures to improve the quality of the environment. Of life of the population, without compromising the resources and environmental services of future generations. Thus, the objective of this chapter is to discuss the role of environmental education in sustainable development through mitigating measures, such as the use of renewable energies, in order to emphasize its social, economic and environmental importance.
