A DEFICIÊNCIA E HUMANIDADE: BREVE HISTÓRICO
A inclusão da deficiência é tema atual
e de extrema importância para entendermos
as transformações sociais e no âmbito das
políticas públicas educacionais que resultaram
no processo inclusivo de estudantes com
deficiência no ensino regular. O objetivo deste
trabalho é o de apresentar um breve histórico
da deficiência desde as sociedades primitivas
até a atualidade. Remonta aos povos primitivos
e chega às até sociedades atuais, buscando
elementos que permitam observar como a
deficiência foi tratada ao longo da história da
humanidade. Trata-se de estudo bibliográfico,
concentrado nas pesquisas de Silva (1986),
Fonseca (2000), Batista (2004), Doval (2006),
Gugel (2007), Oliveira (2012), Nunes, Saia e
Tavares (2015). Os resultados apontam que,
embora se tenha avanços importantes em
relação à inclusão da pessoa com deficiência,
resquícios do pensamento de que estas são
incapacitadas para o trabalho e para relações
sociais permanece. Daí resulta a importância de
pensarmos historicamente sobre a deficiência,
pois, embora a legislação garanta os direitos
dessa população, muito ainda há para ser feito,
haja vista que se mantém a ideia da deficiência
como incapacidade de aprendizagem.

Abstract:
The inclusion of disability is
a current and extremely important topic for
understanding social transformations and public
education policies that have resulted in the
inclusive process of students with disabilities
in regular education. The objective of this work
is to present a brief history of disability from
primitive societies to the present day. It goes
back to the primitive peoples and reaches the
present societies, looking for elements that
allow to observe how the deficiency was treated
throughout the history of the humanity. It is a
bibliographical study, focused on the researches
of Silva (1986), Fonseca (2000), Batista
(2004), Doval (2006), Gugel (2007), Oliveira
(2012), Nunes, Saia and Tavares (2015). The
results show that, although there are important
advances in the inclusion of people with
disabilities, remnants of the thought that they are incapacitated for work and for social
relations remains. This is why it is important to think historically about disability, because
although the legislation guarantees the rights of this population, much remains to be
done, given that the idea of disability as an inability to learn is maintained.
