A CULTURA MATERIAL DAS CIÊNCIAS FÍSICAS - REMINISCÊNCIAS DE UM ENSINO LICEAL DEMONSTRATIVO-EXPERIMENTAL
A existência de colecções de instrumentos didácticos antigos de Física e Química despertaram o nosso interesse pelo seu estudo, não só pela beleza de alguns exemplares, mas também porque se constituem como uma memória do desenvolvimento do ensino das ciências físicas no ensino médio/secundário em Portugal. Em simultâneo, revelam o entrecruzar de saberes e sua circulação num espaço europeu alargado, tendo permitido que, no intervalo de um século, a institucionalização do ensino público se processasse no nosso país. Essa circulação e apropriação, hoje objecto de investigação, têm vindo a enriquecer os estudos sobre as práticas e ensino científico, apontando o interesse da preservação da memória de uma cultura material da escola. Apresentam-se alguns aspectos de interesse.

Abstract:
The existence of collections of old didactic instruments of Physics and Chemistry aroused our interest in their study, not only for the beauty of some examples, but also because they constitute a memory of the development of the physical sciences teaching in secondary education in Portugal. At the same time, they reveal the intertwining of knowledge and its circulation in an enlarged European space, having allowed, in the span of a century, the institutionalization of public science education to take place in our country. This circulation and appropriation, currently the object of investigation, has been enriching the studies on scientific practices and teaching, pointing out the interest of preserving the memory of a material culture of the school. Some aspects of interest are presented.
