A CRIAÇÃO DE UMA SALA DE EXPOSIÇÃO DE METEOROLOGIA NO MUSEU DE HISTÓRIA NATURAL DA UFAL
O clima passado e presente exerce influência direta na evolução da vida na terra, determinando quais espécies já habitaram e habitam o planeta. Diante da importância do tema, foi criado, no país, a primeira “Sala de Exposição de Meteorologia” no Museu de História Natural da Universidade Federal de Alagoas – MHN-UFAL. O Museu de História Natural da UFAL, e em particular a "Sala de Meteorologia", visam aumentar o interesse do público na educação em geral e em particular nas ciências naturais. A educação da população e especialmente das crianças nas ciências naturais, com foco na meteorologia, pode ajudar a criar uma nova geração que viverá em equilíbrio com a natureza e preservará o meio ambiente para as futuras gerações. Este salão do Museu foi criado por uma grande equipe: professores do Instituto de Ciências Atmosféricas - ICAT e Instituto de Geografia, Desenvolvimento e Meio Ambiente - IGDEMA, ambos da UFAL, funcionários da Diretoria de Hidrometeorologia da Secretária de Estado do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos – DHM-SEMARH/AL, membros do Museu de História Natural, funcionário do Sistema de Radar Meteorológico de Alagoas - SIRMAL, alunos de graduação e mestrado do ICAT, alunos dos Laboratórios de "Meteorologia Física e Sinótica" e Laboratório de Análise e Processamento de Imagens de Satélites - LAPIS. O desenvolvimento do Salão meteorológico incluiu: coleta de instrumentos meteorológicos, instalação da estação meteorológica, desenvolvimento e instalação de software para mostrar dados de satélites e da estação meteorológica, preparação de banners e apresentações para o público que frequenta o museu.

Abstract:
Weather and climate in the past and now are the environment in which life on the Earth evolved and moreover, them determine which types of the species may live in the present time and have lived in the past. Therefore, the first in Brazil “Hall of Meteorology” was created in the Natural History Museum of UFAL. The Natural History Museum of UFAL, and in particular the "Hall of Meteorology", aim to increase the public interest in education in general and in the natural sciences in particular. Education of the population and especially children in the natural sciences with a focus on meteorology, can help to create a new generation which will live in the balance with the nature and preserve the environment for the future generations. This hall of the Museum was created by a great team: professors of ICAT and IGDEMA - UFAL, staff of the DHM - SEMARH / AL, director of the Museum of Natural History, employee of the SIRMAL, undergraduate and master students of ICAT, students of the "Physical Meteorology and Synoptic” and LAPIS laboratories. Development of the meteorological hall included: collection of the meteorological instruments, installation of the meteorological station, development and installation of software to show satellite and weather station data, preparation of posters and presentations.
