A CONSTRUÇÃO HISTÓRICA DA INTOLERÂNCIA AO CIGANO: DO MITO DO SURGIMENTO DOS CIGANOS AOS MATERIAIS DIVULGADOS EM SALA DE AULA
Os ciganos têm sido no decorrer da História (no mundo todo) apresentados como grupo nômade, de moral torpe, e em casos extremos, raça inferior. Este trabalho aborda características particulares dos ciganos no Brasil, aspectos de sua cultura, religião, escolarização, código moral e demais tradições; apresenta uma discussão sobre o termo “ciganos”, e como grupos distintos tem sido rotulados como iguais no decorrer da história. Discute sobre processos que resultaram em discriminação, intolerância, racismo e casos de violência, apresentando uma revisão bibliográfica que discorre do mito do surgimento dos ciganos, os problemas destas minorias e como citações na literatura brasileira vieram a endossar a ideia de que dos ciganos herdamos nossa malandragem e o quanto são perigosos e traiçoeiros. No âmbito escolar, apontamos como materiais divulgados em sala de aula reforçam a marginalização, e a evasão escolar apontando o descaso dos órgãos públicos.

Abstract:
Gypsies have been throughout history (all over the world) presented as a nomadic group of morals and, in extreme cases, an inferior race. This paper addresses particular characteristics of gypsies in Brazil, aspects of their culture, religion, schooling, moral code and other traditions; presents a discussion of the term "Gypsies", and how distinct groups have been labeled as equals throughout history. It discusses processes that resulted in discrimination, intolerance, racism and cases of violence, presenting a bibliographic review that discusses the myth of the emergence of Gypsies, the problems of these minorities and as citations in the Brazilian literature came to endorse the idea that we inherit our Gypsies. roguery and how dangerous and treacherous they are. In the school context, we point out how materials disseminated in the classroom reinforce marginalization, and school dropout pointing to the neglect of public agencies. -
