A CONSTRUÇÃO DA BRANQUITUDE NA SOCIEDADE DA APRENDIZAGEM: UMA LEITURA DA NARRATIVA FÍLMICA “JENNIFER”
O presente texto analisa representações de branquitude no media metragem Jennifer, disponível no Youtube e produzido em 2011. O objetivo do artigo é mapear e discutir as representações de branquitude no cotidiano da personagem Jennifer e apontar possíveis implicações destas representações culturais hegemônicas nos padrões de beleza e de comportamento na chamada sociedade da aprendizagem. Em termos teóricos, trata-se de uma abordagem que se dá no âmbito dos Estudos Culturais em Educação, articulando o conceito de branquitude, com os conceitos de representação cultural e sociedade da aprendizagem, discutidos por teóricos como Giroux, Piza, Sovik, Schucman, Hall, Simons e Masschelein. As imagens fílmicas são responsáveis por muitas de nossas formas de ver e interagir com a realidade, pois constituem-se em importantes fontes de produção de significados, contribuindo na formação de identidades. A partir do média metragem “Jennifer” observa-se que é possível pensar sobre a necessidade de se refletir e problematizar cada vez mais a respeito das questões envolvendo o multiculturalismo e as diferenças étnico-raciais.

Abstract:
This text analyzes representations of whiteness in Jennifer's media, available on Youtube and produced in 2011. The aim of the article is to map and discuss the representations of whiteness in the everyday life of the character Jennifer and to point out possible implications of these hegemonic cultural representations in the patterns of beauty and of behavior in the so-called learning society. In theoretical terms, it is an approach that takes place in the context of Cultural Studies in Education, articulating the concept of whiteness, with the concepts of cultural representation and learning society, discussed by theorists such as Giroux, Piza, Sovik, Schucman, Hall, Simons and Masschelein. Film images are responsible for many of our ways of seeing and interacting with reality, as they constitute important sources of meaning production, contributing to the formation of identities. From the medium-length “Jennifer” it is observed that it is possible to think about the need to reflect and increasingly problematize about issues involving multiculturalism and ethnic-racial differences.
