A CONCENTRAÇÃO INDUSTRIAL DA REGIÃO METROPOLITANA DE SOROCABA E DE SEUS MUNICÍPIOS - UMA CONTRIBUIÇÃO À GESTÃO DE POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS DE DESENVOLVIMENTO
O presente capítulo busca chamar à atenção o quanto cada município da Região Metropolitana de Sorocaba é sensível a crise no setor industrial. Seu estudo principal, que deu origem a este capítulo, foi baseado na dependência do setor para a geração de valor adicionado e nos empregos. Usando o Valor de Transformação Industrial e o índice de Herfindahl-Hirschman, foram medidas as concentrações da Indústria nos segmentos contidos na Classificação CNAE 2.0, cujos valores de transformação industrial estavam disponíveis. Foram divididos em tercis e classificados como: municípios mais sensíveis a crise na Indústria; relativamente sensíveis (ou relativamente mais resilientes) e municípios menos sensíveis (ou mais resilientes). O trabalho também contextualizou a Região Metropolitana de Sorocaba face às demais Regiões Metropolitanas e identificou ser a Região Metropolitana de Sorocaba a segunda região metropolitana menos sujeita à crise do setor industrial, face à sua diversidade.

Abstract:
This chapter seeks to draw attention to the extent to which each municipality in the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba is sensitive to the crisis in the industrial sector. The original study, which gave rise to this chapter, was based on the sector's dependence on the generation of added value and on jobs. Using the Industrial Transformation Value and the Herfindahl-Hirschman index, we have measured the Industry concentrations in the segments contained in the CNAE Classification 2.0, whose industrial transformation values were available. They were divided into terciles and classified as: municipalities more sensitive to the crisis in the industry; relatively sensitive (or relatively more resilient) and less sensitive (or more resilient) municipalities. The work also contextualized the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba compared to the other Metropolitan Regions, and identified that the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba is the second metropolitan region least subject to the crisis of the industrial sector, given its diversity.
