A comunidade de Cerro Pelado, fronteira e história agrária
A Comunidade de Cerro Pelado está localizada na área rural de Rivera, precisamente na fronteira entre Rivera e Livramento, a 75 quilômetros da capital do departamento, na estrada nacional nº 27 Mario Heber. É o resultado do velho Povo Segarra, datado das últimas décadas do século XIX, no departamento de Rivera, onde havia impulsos de famílias imigrantes, principalmente Berruti da Itália, apostando no crescimento da cidade. O mesmo com sua proximidade com a fronteira, em particular as boas pastagens e o manejo de ovinos, cresceu rapidamente com um grande componente comunitário entre os habitantes da região. No início do século XX, a cidade será chamada de Cerro Pelado, devido à sua condição geográfica, dedicada a atividades agrícolas, como a venda de lã, carne, leite e alguns produtos agrícolas. Ao longo da história da cidade, há uma forte conexão com a igreja católica e grandes líderes que permanecem na memória dos habitantes. Atualmente, a cidade possui aproximadamente 200 habitantes, com água, luz, telefone, educação, rádio, entre outros. A incorporação desses serviços permitiu a permanência da população no meio rural, apesar do êxodo sofrido pelas comunidades rurais com a implementação da tecnologia. Abstract:
The Community of Cerro Pelado is located in the rural area of Rivera, precisely at the Rivera-Livramento border, 75 kilometers from the departmental capital on national route No. 27 Mario Heber. It is the result of the old Segarra people dating from the last decades of the nineteenth century in the department of Rivera, where there, impulses from immigrant families, mainly Berruti from Italy, were betting on the growth of the town. The same with its proximity to the border, good pastures and sheep management in particular, grew rapidly with a large community component among the inhabitants of the area. At the beginning of the 20th century, the town will be called Cerro Pelado due to its geographical condition, dedicated to agricultural activities such as the sale of wool, meat, milk and some agricultural products. Throughout the history of the town there is a strong connection with the Catholic church and great leaders who remain in the memory of the inhabitants. Currently the town has approximately 200 inhabitants, with water, electricity, telephone, education, radio, among others. The incorporation of these services allowed the permanence of the population in the rural environment despite the exodus suffered by rural communities with the implementation of technology. -
