A COMUNICAÇÃO ENTRE EQUIPES MÉDICAS E FAMILIARES EM CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS PEDIÁTRICOS
a comunicação eficaz entre as
equipes médicas e familiares de pacientes
pediátricos é importante no processo de
tratamento, especificamente em situações de
doenças graves em que estes e suas famílias têm
suas vidas modificadas. O objetivo deste estudo
é verificar o processo de comunicação entre as
equipes médicas e familiares de pacientes em
cuidados paliativos pediátricos. Foram realizadas
entrevistas semiestruturadas em um hospital
escola materno-infantil localizado no interior
do Estado de São Paulo no período de maio
a julho de 2017. Na elaboração da entrevista,
considerou-se: padrões de comunicação entre
as equipes médicas e familiares acerca do
estado de saúde, tratamento e prognóstico do
paciente, além de dados sociodemográficos.
Participaram da pesquisa cinco acompanhantes
de pacientes hospitalizados e em cuidados
paliativos e cinco médicos pediatras. Diante das
respostas dos entrevistados entende-se que
os familiares mantêm uma boa relação com a
equipe médica, e estes mostram-se resistentes
em apresentar a empatia que sentem pelos
pacientes, defendendo-se com os aspectos
técnicos da profissão. Os resultados reforçam
a importância da comunicação como elemento
fundamental no cuidado e sua valorização por
parte da equipe médica.

Abstract:
The effective communication
between the medical team and the family of
pediatric patients is important for the treatment
process, specifically in situations of serious
illness in which both patients and families have
their lives modified. The objective of this study is
to verify the process of communication between
the medical tem and the family of patients
in pediatric palliative care. Semi-structured
interviews were conducted in a maternity and
child-care teaching hospital located in the interior
of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, between May
and July 2017. In the creation of the interview, was
considered the following issues: communication
patterns between medical team and family about
the state of health, treatment and prognosis of the patient, as well as sociodemographic
data. Five inpatient and palliative care attendants and five pediatricians participated
in the study. Faced with the answers of the interviewees, it is understood that family
members maintain a good relationship with the medical team, with has resistance to
presenting the empathy felled for the patients, defending themselves with the technical
aspects of the profession. The results reinforce the importance of communication as a
fundamental element in care and its appreciation by the medical team.
