A CARTOGRAFIA TEMÁTICA NA SALA DE AULA COMO ESTRATÉGIA DE VALORIZAÇÃO DO PATRIMÔNIO CULTURAL
O presente trabalho é resultado dos meus esforços em aliar a pesquisa sobre o patrimônio cultural na região central de Limeira – SP, em programas de Pós-Graduação, e práticas em sala de aula enquanto professora de Geografia para os anos finais do Ensino Fundamental na rede estadual de ensino paulista. Assim, desenvolvi uma sequência didática com alunos do 6° ano que tem por objetivo reconhecer e valorizar o patrimônio cultural local através de pesquisa, trabalho de campo e elaboração de mapas temáticos. Os alunos nesta etapa da escolarização partem do espaço de vivência para analisar a produção do espaço geográfico e trabalham, conforme indicação curricular, com o conceito de paisagem e suas transformações, além da alfabetização cartográfica. Assim, a discussão sobre o patrimônio cultural se torna bastante relevante, uma vez que levanta questionamentos sobre diferentes temporalidades coexistindo no mesmo espaço e a necessidade da conservação dos imóveis de interesse histórico e cultural para o município. O referencial metodológico sobre Cartografia Temática utilizado em sala de aula para a construção dos mapas sobre o patrimônio cultural de Limeira é do Professor Marcello Martinelli (USP – São Paulo) e a proposta de mapeamento desenvolvida pelos alunos foi importante para a discussão sobre patrimônio cultural e para o desenvolvimento da capacidade leitora de mapas a partir de sua elaboração.

Abstract:
The present paper is a result of my efforts to combine researches on cultural heritage of the downtown area of Limeira – SP, at postgraduate courses, with my practices as a Geography school teacher for the final years of elementary schooling in public schools of Sao Paulo. As so I developed a teaching sequence with 6th grade students that had the purpose to recognize and value the cultural heritage throughout research, fieldwork and the elaboration of thematic mapping. The students at this stage of schooling start off from the living space area to analyze the production of the geographic space and work, as a curriculum recommendation, with the concept of landscape and its transformations, besides the cartographic literacy. Therefore, the discussion on cultural heritage is very relevant once it brings questionings of different times coexisting in the same space and the need to preserve the buildings that have historic and cultural interest for the County. The method for Thematic Cartography used in the classroom, for the elaboration of maps on the cultural heritage of Limeira, is from Marcello Martinelli (USP – Sao Paulo) and the mapping proposal created by the students was significant for the discussion on cultural heritage with the students and to increase their ability to read maps from their own elaboration.
